약력
랄프 에머스(Ralf Emmers) 박사는 싱가포르 난양공과대학교(Nanyang Technological University, NTU) 산하 S. 라자라트남 국제문제연구소(S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, RSIS) 국제관계학 교수이자 부학장(Associate Dean)이다. 또한 RSIS 내 다자주의연구센터(Centre for Multilateralism Studies, CMS) 센터장을 겸임하고 있다. 에머스 박사는 영국 런던정경대학교(London School of Economics, LSE) 국제관계학과에서 석사(MSc) 및 박사(PhD) 학위를 취득하였다.
그의 연구 분야는 안보연구(Security Studies), 아시아·태평양 지역의 국제기구, 동남아시아의 안보와 국제정치 등을 포함한다. 에머스 박사는 총 11권의 저서 및 단행본을 집필·편집하였으며, 주요 저서로는 『Geopolitics and Maritime Territorial Disputes in East Asia』(Routledge, 2010)와 『Resource Management and Contested Territories in East Asia』(Palgrave Macmillan, 2013)가 있다. 또한 『The Pacific Review』, 『International Relations of the Asia-Pacific』, 『Asian Survey』, 『Australian Journal of International Affairs』, 『Asian Security』, 『Contemporary Southeast Asia』, 『Contemporary Politics』 등 국제 학술지에 다수의 논문을 게재하였으며, 여러 편저서에 다수의 장(章)을 기고하였다.
