Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is pushing to designate the Jeju Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin as the first ‘Eco Legal Person’. Currently, the related bill is submitted to the National Assembly. The introduction of the ‘Eco Legal Person’ system can lead to a fundamental change in human perception and attitudes towards nature, greatly contributing to the protection of endangered species and the overcoming of the climate crisis. Accordingly, we aim to seek international expansion and cooperation measures of the ‘Eco Legal Person’ system together with relevant experts.
