The Jeju Peace Institute (JPI) was created in 2006 as a research institution devoted to the study and promotion of peace on the Korean Peninsula and to foster regional cooperation in East Asia. Since then, JPI has been the organizer of the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity. Today, JPI serves as a central facilitator of research, outreach programs and exchange activities designed to bring the world closer together. JPI focuses on policy recommendations to advance understanding and cooperation on the Korean Peninsula as well as throughout East Asia. Our education programs and global outreach are a true reflection of a ceaseless endeavor to uphold the JPI vision. The Jeju Peace Institute was founded with three goals: to promote the vision of Northeast Asia as a region of unity and cooperation, to raise Jeju's stature as an Island of World Peace, and to become a leading organization in peace research and programs throughout Asia and the world. JPI is committed to promote the use of economic-political diplomacy in achieving stable peace. The ultimate goal of the Institute is to become the hub of operations for peace programs on the Korean peninsula and throughout Northeast Asia.
