제임스 크라스카
약력
제임스 크라스카 교수는 미국 U.S. Naval War College의 찰스 H. 스톡턴 국제해양법 석좌교수(Charles H. Stockton Chair of International Maritime Law)이자 Stockton Center for International Law 소장(Chair)이다. 또한 Harvard Law School의 방문교수(Visiting Professor of Law) 및 존 하비 그레고리 세계기구 강좌 담당교수(John Harvey Gregory Lecturer on World Organization)를 맡고 있다. 그는 국제해양법, 해양안보, 해전법(Law of Naval Warfare) 분야의 세계적인 권위자로 평가받고 있다.
크라스카 교수는 과거 University of Maine, University of the Philippines, Gujarat National Law University, Duke University에서 방문교수로 재직하였다. 또한 그는 미국 해군의 국제법 변호사(International Law Attorney for the U.S. Navy)로 근무한 경력이 있으며, 현재도 The New York Times, CNN, Reuters 등 주요 국제 언론에 정기적으로 인터뷰를 제공하고 있다.
다작의 학자로서 최근에는 Marine Technology, Ocean Development and the Law of the Sea를 케임브리지대학교 출판부를 통해 출간하였다. 또한 현재 『Incidents at Sea in U.S. Diplomacy and International Law』를 집필 중이며, 이 책은 옥스퍼드대학교 출판부를 통해 출간될 예정이다. 크라스카 교수는 현재 한국해양수산개발원 연구자문위원회 위원으로 활동하고 있으며, Council on Foreign Relations의 종신회원(Lifetime Member)이기도 하다.
