코로나 팬데믹 이후 국가 간, 지역 간 대립은 심화되고 지역 간 정치적, 경제적 갈등이 고조되면서 그 어느 때보다 도시 간 연대는 중요해지고 있다. 이러한 관점에서 2018년 제주포럼에서 제주가 제안하고, 2021년 협약을 체결한 글로벌 평화 도시 연대(제주-오스나브뤼크-베르됭)는 도시 간 교류 협력을 강화하고 국가 간 대립을 완화시켜 외교 관계도 개선시킬 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 코로나 팬데믹 이후 엔데믹으로 전환하는 시점에서 각 평화 도시 간 평화 활동을 위한 공동사업을 논의하고 향후 연대를 넘어 평화를 대표하는 국제협의체로서의 기능을 갖추기 위한 비전을 논의한다.


Since the COVID-19 pandemic, inter-country and regional confrontations have intensified and political and economic conflicts between regions have raised, building solidarity more important than ever. From this point of view, Jeju proposed Global Peace Cities Solidarity at the 2018 Jeju Forum and signed an agreement in 2021 is significant in that it can strengthen inter-city exchange and cooperation and ease conflicts between countries to improve diplomatic relations. At the point of transition to the endemic after the COVID-19 pandemic, each peace city will discuss joint projects for peace activities and discuss its vision to function as an international consultative body representing peace beyond future solidarity.
