The advancement of digital technology and the widespread use of social media are bringing significant changes to both the format and the actors of diplomacy. Moving beyond traditional government-led diplomacy, there is a growing possibility for ordinary citizens—particularly young people—to participate as key stakeholders in the diplomatic sphere. Nevertheless, diplomacy still feels distant and unfamiliar to many youth, often accompanied by practical barriers such as time and financial constraints. This session is designed with this awareness in mind, proposing digital diplomacy as a more practical and sustainable alternative for youth engagement. By adopting a dialogue-based structure rather than a formal lecture, and incorporating interactive elements that encourage audience participation, the session aims to lower the perceived barriers to diplomacy and offer young people an opportunity to recognize their potential as active voices in international discourse.
