Dr. Sohn is Dean of the Graduate School of Public Governance and Civic Engagement of Kyung Hee University and the President of the Korean Association of International Development Cooperation (KAIDEC). He also served as editor for the Korean Political Science Review and board member of the Korean Political Science Association. Outside his academic engagements, he serves as a non-standing board director of KOICA and ODA policy advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since 2012, he has been a civilian member of the Prime Minister's Office’s working committee for international development cooperation. In addition, he actively participated in the civil society advocacy activities as a member of the Global Facilitating Group (GFG) of Open Forum for CSOs Development and a member of the Operation Committee of the Korean Civil Society Forum of the International Development Forum(KoFID), co-organizer of the Busan Civil Society Forum held during the HLF4. His main research interests include international development in general, ODA policies, development partnerships, and development NGOs.
