[The Council of Mayor-Provincial governor of South-North Korea Border area 접경지역 시장•군수협의회] Peace on the Korean Peninsula needs political negotiations between South and North Koreas, and it is necessary to build a trust system that establishes a communitarian order in national identity and close relationship in daily life among the people in both sides, on a long term plan. In this respect, it is required to collaboration and progress based on interaction in border area and dynamism beyond boundaries. In the 'New Economy Plan on Korean Peninsula', the border area of the Korean Peninsula is the center and one of three belts connecting the North and the South with the East Sea and the West Sea. It also shares non-political issues to resolve in cooperation with other border area such as natural disaster prevention, ecosystem protection, and so on. 한반도 평화는 남북 당국 간 정치적 협상과 함께, 보다 장기적인 계획에 입각해 남북이 공동체적 질서를 구축하고 삶의 과정에서 가까워지는 신뢰 구축 작업이 지속될 필요가 있다. 이러한 측면에서 경계를 넘어선 역동성과 상호작용을 바탕으로 한 접경지역에서의 협력과 그 진행이 요구된다. ‘한반도 신경제지도 구상’에서 한반도 접경지역은 동해권, 서해권과 함께 남북을 묶어주는 3개 벨트의 하나이며, 그 중심에 있다. 또한 자연재해 공동 예방, 생태계 보존 등 비정치적인 분야에서 접경지역 상대방과 공동으로 해결해야 할 사안을 공유하고 있다. 경제 협력, 생태 보존 등 다양한 대화와 협력의 시작점으로 한반도 접경지역을 돌아보고, 평화 프로세스의 시작점으로서 적임지임을 논의한다.
