This year, the Jeju Forum hosted 3,672 participants from 49 countries, the largest number in the forums history, signaling its growing importance as an international forum that deals comprehensively with a variety of topics. With one voice, Asian political leaders and erudite scholars from around the world expressed their yearning for peace on the Korean Peninsula, and delivered the East Asian communitys shared vision of a peaceful, constructive resolution to historical and territorial disputes in Asia, founded on mutual understanding.  Seeking global cooperation that befits this anticipated paradigm shift, a broad range of topics was considered, including the economy, culture, women, energy, and climate change. As a result of these discussions, new measures were devised to respond effectively to various crises and changes.Based on the fruits of this years discussions.

The 21st century is the century that will usher women into the era of the Dream Society. Sympathy, tenderness and delicacy, as Women’s Leadership keywords, will be key to changing the world. Delicacy, accuracy, sensitivity, flexibility, interpersonal relationship orientation and communication skill unique to women will act as alternative leadership. Womanhood and woman leadership have the right characteristics of a leader in the information technology age.

Women account for half of humanity. National competitiveness in the future will depend on how well equipped the legal and institutional basis is for talented women to enter society, and how well female human resource and workforce is employed. To overlook about competitiveness and future of woman leadership in the wave of change will be meaningful to enhance social and economic competitiveness as well as women’s active participation in society.

21세기는 드림 소사이어티 시대로 여성의 세기입니다. 여성 리더십의 키워드인 공감과 부드러움, 섬세함이 세계를 움직이는 핵심이 될 것입니다. 여성 특유의 섬세함, 치밀함, 감수성, 유연성, 관계지향성, 소통 능력이 대안적 리더십으로 작용할 것입니다. 여성성과 여성 정보기술시대의 리더로 적합한 특성을 가지고 있습니다.

인류의 반이 여성입니다. 미래의 국가경쟁력은 여성 인력을 얼마나 잘 활용하고, 여성 인재들이 사회에 진출할 수 있는 제도적 기반이 얼마나 잘 갖추어져 있느냐에 의해 좌우될 것입니다. 이러한 변화의 물결을 계기로 여성 리더십의 경쟁력과 미래에 대해 조망해 보는 것은 여성들의 활발한 사회참여는 물론 사회·경제의 경쟁력 제고를 위해 의미가 있을 것입니다.
