Supply chains and semiconductors: the Asian connection
Youtube
‘Supply chain’ was one of the most urgent yet complex terms on the minds of business leaders in 2020 and political leaders in 2021. The pandemic forced many supply chains to grind to a halt, and with more people spending time at home, the demand for chips is now greater than the supply. Semiconductors have become the backbone of global technology competition and a strategic resource that all major economies must secure.
Spurred on by a global chip shortage, the Biden Administration plans to increase domestic production and improve the resiliency of America’s supply chains. As a center for semiconductor production, how will Asian economies deal with this challenge? Is it worth building self-sufficiency? How will the industry function in a world where trust has been damaged?
In this session we focus on supply chains, especially for the semiconductor industry in Asia, and how to enhance the connection among Asian economies facing global uncertainties.
