FORUM

At the forum, domestic and international participants from 60 sessions dealt with various issues ranging from international cooperation & security, economy & business, culture, gender, community development, and the environment, and had wide discussions on regional and global cooperation and challenges beyond the Asia’s paradox for new Asia. And the Trilateral cooperation Secretariat participated in the forum for the first time, organizing 3 concurrent sessions, and contributed to the Jeju Forum’s goal of peace and prosperity in Korea, Japan, and China.

This session will explore ways to review the potential values of Jeju horse and Halla horse, which have been rooted for a long time in the life of people in Jeju. Then it will also develop projects such as launching a horse museum, which will be the first step in world history, and developing products in relation to the tourism utilizing the region’s unique nature. On the other hand, developing relic culture business making the best use of Jatsung(traditional Jeju stone wall) and horse ranch will be discussed. In addition, how the tourism as well as culture can use the advantage of Jeju’s beautiful nature and what measures to galvanize horse industry as a healing industry with its potential are needed will be discussed.

본 세션에서는 오랫동안 제주민의 삶 속에 자리잡은 가축인 제주마를 비롯하여 한라마 등 제주고유의 유전적 특성을 갖는 말들의 가치 발견과 보급, 나아가 다양한 종류의 말을 보여 줄 수 있는 세계유일의 말 보존전시관사업, 잣성(조선시대 제주 지역의 중산간 목초지에 만들어진 목장 경계용 돌담)과 목마장 관련 유적 문화상품 개발, 제주특유의 초원 풍광을 자아내는 초지산업 등과 연계한 관광과 문화 그리고 치유사업의 활성화를 유도하기 위한 방안을 논의하고자 합니다.
