Biography
Mr Chang Il Kang is a Member of the 20th National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. He is a four-term member (17th- 20th) from Jeju City(District Gap) of Jeju Island. He currently serves as a Member of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee. He is also actively working as Chairman of the Korea-Japan Parliamentarians’ and Representative Member of the Democracy and Welfare State Research Society. Ever since the people of Jeju city first elected Mr. Kang as their National Assemblyman in 2004, He has actively engaged in congressional diplomacy, particularly in the areas of economic and energy. In 2012, he participated and led the Assembly as president of the Renewable Energy Research Forum to enhance the importance of renewable energy use worldwide. From 2013 to 2014, he served as Chairman of the Committee on Trade, Industry and Energy.
