Biography

Eric Walsh (BA HON Political Science, Russian, McGill University, 1994) joined the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development in 1995. Following an assignment with the Ottawa Convention (anti-personnel mine ban treaty) negotiating team, he served abroad in Ankara and Bucharest. He was also posted to Geneva as Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament and recently as Deputy Head of Mission in Berlin. In Ottawa, he has held positions as Coordinator for Middle East and North African Affairs and as Director for the East Asia and North Asia Divisions. Mr. Walsh arrived in Seoul on February 5th, 2015, and presented his credentials to President Park Geun-hye on February 12th, 2015. He is married to Ms. Lucie Tsai.
