Biography

Park Jae-mo (朴在模, age 47) is the Director of the Research and Development Department at the Jeju Free International City Development Center (JDC). He earned his Ph.D. in Tourism Development from Kyonggi University in 2002. In the same year, he joined JDC as one of its founding members and has since served in a variety of key positions, including Head of the Tourism Business Team, Head of Planning at the Office of Policy Coordination, Head of Investment Strategy, and Director of Duty-Free Store Operations. Currently, he oversees new business initiatives, conducting research and feasibility studies on infrastructure projects related to the development of the Jeju Free International City and transforming them into public projects.

His professional experience includes numerous public-sector tourism development projects, such as:
- 1997: Development Plan for the Fantasy Iron Cave, Mureung Valley, Samcheok, Gangwon Province
- 1998: Rural Waterfront Development Plan for Auraji, Gangwon Province (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry)
- 1999: Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan for Goesan County, Chungcheongbuk-do
- 2000: Master Plan for the Gyeonggi-do Ceramics Expo
- 2011: Master Plan for Bangchon Cultural Village, Jangheung, Jeollanam-do
- 2011: Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan for Jangheung County, Jeollanam-do
- 2012: Development Plan for High1 Resort (Phase II)

He has also published more than ten scholarly articles in domestic and international peer-reviewed journals.ed works include:

“Hierarchical Analysis of Accident Types among Ski Resort Users” (2004, Korean Academic Society of Tourism and Leisure Studies)

In terms of academic activities, he currently serves as Vice President of the Jeju Special Committee of the Korean Academic Society of Tourism and as Vice President of the Jeju Chapter of the Korea Planning Association.
