Biography
Seongho Ahn was president of the Korean Association for Local Government Studies and vice president of Daejeon University. He took part in several government reform practices as chairman of the Special Committee for Establishing Jeju Special Autonomous Province and as a member of other presidential committees. He also served as founding co-chairman of the Decentralization Movement for Sustainable Korea. He received his Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Public Administration from Seoul National University.
Currently, Seongho Ahn is an honorary professor of Daejeon University. He is chairman of the Sejong-Jeju Committee for Special Autonomy & Balanced Development and also co-chairman of People's Action for Constitutionalizing Decentralization.
Seongho Ahn authored Power Sharing Democracy: From Leviathan to Self-Governing Community (2nd ed. 2018), Constitutionalizing Bicameralism in Korea (2013), Decentralization & Participation: Lessons form Switzerland (2006), East Asian Cooperation in the Golcal Era (2006), Local Governance and Local Policies (2004), A Study on Swiss Federal Democracy (2001), Local Autonomy in Korea: Theory and Practice (1996) and others.
