Uchiyama Kiyoyuki was born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, on March 13th, 1964, and works at the Nikkei, the economic newspapers of Japan that issues approximately 2.5 million copies daily. Currently, he works as Chief Editor and Deputy Managing Editor, and directs a wide range of coverage in Nikkei from economy to politics, diplomacy, and security. After graduating from Keio University in 1987, he entered Nikkei and worked in the Economy Department and Politics Department. For 3 years from April 2015, he served as Director of the Politics Department. He also worked as a correspondent in Seoul from 2001 to 2004, and as Director of the Seoul Branch from 2012 to 2015. During these times, he wrote “South Korea, the Developed Country of Conflicts with itself”.
