Biography
Prof. Yan Xuetong is the Dean of the Institute of International Relations, Tsinghua University, Secretary General of the World Peace Forum, and the Editor-in-Chief of The Chinese Journal of International Politics. He is Vice Chairman of the China Association of International Relations Studies and China Association of American Studies, and a member of the Consultation Committee of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC.
Prof. Yan received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1992, M.A. in international relations from the Institute of International Relations in 1986, and B.A. in English from Heilongjiang University in 1982.
Prof. Yan has beened as the Most Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier for 3 consecutive years from 2014 to 2016. He has published more than a hundred papers and articles on international relations. His recent books include Inertia of History: China and the World in the Next 10 Years (2013), The Analysis of International Relations-Third Edition (2017), Ancient Chinese Thought, Modern Chinese Power (2011), etc.
