Biography
Dr. Young-Han Kim obtained his Ph.D. degree from Indiana University in 1997, specializing in international economics and industrial organization, and was a Chief Research Fellow at Samsung Economic Research Institute. He joined the faculty of the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in 1998. At HUFS, he was a professor of international economics atthe Graduate School of International Studies. Since 2001, he has taught international economics and regional economic integration at the Economics Dept of Sungkyunkwan University. He has served as chairperson of the Global Economics Dept from 2009 to 2016. He has also served as a policy advisor to the Ministry of Trade and Industry from 2003 to 2007 and has been Vice President of Kthe orean Association of Trade and Industry Studies since 2007. Professor Kim has published over 80 journal and conference papers, co-authored twelve books mainly focusing on regional economic integration and industrial relocation after international economic integration. Lately, he has focused his research on an optimal international coordination mechanism to reduce regional conflicts and regime stability.
