Biography

KIM Jik Dong earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1993, followed by a Master's degree in 1995 and a Ph.D. in 2000. Subsequently, he served as a Senior Researcher at LG Electronics for five years, leading the development of next-generation terminals. In 2004, he joined the public sector through a Ph.D. special recruitment, beginning at the Ministry of Information and Communication. his career progressed through the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the Ministry of Science and ICT, culminating in a pivotal role at the Personal Information Protection Commission since its establishment in 2020. Here, he has spearheaded various policies in the field of personal information protection as the head of the New Technology Personal Information Division and the Personal Information Protection Policy Division. Currently, he serves as the Spokesperson, effectively communicating the commission's initiatives and policies to the public.
