Mayor Rommel C. Arnado has been the Municipal Mayor of the Municipality of Kauswagan, Lanao Del Norte, since 2010 to the present. A former pilot and businessman in America who returned to the Philippines to serve his fellow men with utmost dedication, sincerity, transparency, accountability, and good governance since 2010 to the present. He is presently involved in Organic Agriculture since 2010 until today that leads to the popularity of the Municipality of Kauswagan in Organic farming and earned positive impacts and awards, one of which is the Gawad Galing Pook Awards designed for the MNLF and MILF Rebel Returnees, The National Organic Farming Achievers Award of the Philippines and the latest, WINNER OF THE FIRST UCLG GLOBAL PEACEPRIZE, held at Bogota Colombia, on November 2016 for the famous program “ FROM ARMS TO FARMS- Walking through the Paths of peace, the Kauswagan Experience “. Organic farming is one of the priorities in Agriculture in Kauswagan, which pipelined the growth of the economy and diminished the fangs of poverty in the area, declining poverty incidence from 79 % of 2008 to 41 % for 2013 during his administration. He is presently an active Founding member of the League of Organic Agriculture Municipalities of the Philippines, whichnow includes cities of the Philippines since 2012 until present. He is now the present President of the National League of Organic Municipalities and Cities of the Philippines.
