Biography

JOO Ho Young is Chairman of the Korea-Japan Parliamentarians’ Union and a Member of the National Assembly of the ROK, representing Suseong-gu Gap in Daegu as a member of the People Power Party. He has served continuously in the National Assembly from the 17th to the 22nd terms since May 2004. He currently serves on the National Assembly Public Administration and Security Committee and is also active in the Northeast Asia Peaceful Coexistence Forum and the National Assembly K-Healthcare and Well-Dying Forum. Over the course of his political career, he has held several senior leadership positions, including Floor Leader of the People Power Party, Chairman of the Party’s Emergency Response Committee, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, and Minister for Special Affairs. He has also served as Policy Committee Chairperson of both the Grand National Party and the Saenuri Party and has been a Member of several major National Assembly committees, including the Intelligence Committee, National Defense Committee, Political Affairs Committee, and Strategy and Finance Committee.
