Biography
HA Dae-goog (DIEGO) holds a Bachelor of Law from Yonsei University, a Master of Public Policy from the Korea Development Institute (KDI), an LL.M. from Penn Law, and a Master of International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy of Spain.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT) as a Second Secretary in 2007, beginning his career in the ASEAN Cooperation Division. Since then, he has served in various key departments, including the U.S. & E.U. Trade Division, the ROK-U.S. Security Cooperation Division, the Latin America Cooperation Division, and the Disarmament and Nonproliferation Division. He also served as an Army Language Officer at the Ministry of Defense (2010–2013). He built extensive diplomatic experience in the ASEAN region, serving as First Secretary at the Republic of Korea Embassy in Singapore (2019–2022) and Counsellor at the Republic of Korea Embassy in Myanmar (2022–2025). He is currently serving as the Director of the ASEAN Cooperation Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a position he assumed in February 2025.
