Biography

LEE Sang Wook is President of the Human Development Institute and President of Yeoju University. He earned a Master’s degree in Economics from Sogang University and a Doctorate in Economics from Chung-Ang University.

Over the course of more than four decades with the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF), he held a number of senior leadership positions, including President of the Goyang Agricultural Products Distribution Center, Head of Wholesale Market Operations, Manager of Hanaro Club, Director of Education and Training, Director of Rural Resource Development, Head of Public Relations, and CEO of the Agricultural Economy Division. Through these roles, he contributed to the advancement of Korea’s agricultural distribution system and cooperative business sector.

He subsequently served as CEO of Farmers Newspaper, Publisher and CEO of Smedaily, President of NACF University, and Senior Advisor to Samil PwC. President LEE is the author of seven books, including A Nation Survives When Rural Communities Thrive. In recognition of his contributions to business, agriculture, and leadership development, he has received numerous honors, including the Dongbaek Medal of the Order of Civil Merit, the Sogang Economist Award, and the Yonsei Business Leader Award.
