KIM Jong Hwa is a full professor of Artificial Intelligence Engineering at the Cheju Halla University. In 2016-2019, he was a professor of Computer Science at the University of Science and Technology in Daejeon, Korea and in 2002-2016 at the University of Augsburg, Germany. He is a specialist in artificial emotional intelligence and bio-inspired computational intelligence with strong record of the most highly-cited papers in the area. He led a number of international research teams in E.U. IST projects such as HUMAINE, CALLAS, CEEDS and METABO. Recently he successfully conducted German (BMBF) national research projects such as SenseEmotion and GLASSISTANT related to AAL (Ambient Assisted Living). He earned his Ph.D. degree in Communication Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany in 2003, and his Habilitation Dr. degree in Computer Science from the University of Augsburg in 2010.
