Biography

KIM Young Mi is a Professor in the Department of Social Welfare at Dongseo University. She holds a B.A. and a Ph.D. in Social Welfare from Seoul National University. She served as Vice Chairperson of the Presidential Committee on Ageing Society and Population Policy. She has also served as a standing member of the same committee, a member of the Social Security Committee at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, a board member of the Korean Academy of Social Welfare, and a member of the research committee of the Korean Association of Family Social Work. A leading expert in social welfare with a focus on family policy and social security, she has contributed extensively to Korea's policy responses to low fertility and population ageing.
