Shin-wha Lee

Biography

Shin-wha Lee is Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations and Director of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Unification Studies (IIUS) at Korea University. She earned her Ph.D. in International Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park and was Postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University’s CFIA; Special Advisor to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan; Chair’s Advisor of the East Asian Vision Group; Full-time Visiting Professor at Columbia University; International Advisory Member of GR:EEN (Europe); Visiting Scholar at MIT’s Center for International Studies; Advisory Group Member for the UN Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund (PBF); Senior Visiting Fellow at East Asia Institute at National University of Singapore; and Ambassador for International Cooperation on North Korean Human Rights. Her recent publications include Trilateral Korea-Japan-US Cooperation: Dealing with North Korea-China Challenges (KUAUF, 2024) and The United Nations, Indo-Pacific and Korean Peninsula: An Emerging Security Architecture (Routledge, 2024).
