Dr. Gyong-su Mun obtained his Ph.D. degree from Osaka Commercial University in 2006, and is a professor emeritus of Ritsumeikan University and vice director of Ritsumeikan Asia-Japan Research Organization. He graduated from the Department of Political Science, Chuo University in 1977 and obtained his Master's degree from the Hosei University graduate school. He joined the faculty of the College of International Relations, Ritsumeikan University, in 1994 and became a professor of the College in 1998. From April 2013 to March 2015, he was dean of the College. He has published five books, including New Korea Contemporary History, Iwanami Shoten, 2015, The Origin of the Problem of Koreans in Japan, Moon 2015, co-authored fifteen books,s and written many journal papers.
