I was born in Osaka, the second largest city in Japan. As a reporter for the Sankei Shimbun since 2000, I have been conducting interviews and reports on social issues in Japan and issues in Korea and China. I was sent to Korea as a correspondent in 2016 and have been the head of the Seoul branch since 2021. In particular, I have written many articles about North Korea. From last year to this year, I served as president of the Seoul Foreign Correspondents’ Club (SFCC), which has about 100 foreign media companies in Korea. I continued my research on Korea and China since I was young, and when I was a university student, I studied at a university in Hong Kong. I studied North Korean law as a visiting scholar at Dongguk University for a year from 2009.
