CHO Gye Yoen graduated from the Seoul National University with a bachelor’s degree of English literature and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999. She served as Director for Climate Change Diplomacy Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director for External Cooperation of the Office for International Development Cooperation in the Office for Government Policy Coordination, Counsellor in the Korean Embassy in Croatia and Counsellor in the Korean Embassy in Finland. Since October 2024, she is serving as Deputy Director General for Climate Change, Environmental and Scientific Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
