PARK Beom Su

Biography

PARK Beom Su was born in 1971 in Jangseong County, Jeollanam-do Province. He graduated from Gwangju Daedong High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the College of Economics at Sungkyunkwan University. In December 1995, he passed the 39th Higher Civil Service Examination, beginning his career in public service. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Republic of Korea Air Force on February 1, 1998, and was honorably discharged as the first lieutenant on January 31, 2001. He later obtained a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in the United States. PARK Beom Su has served various senior positions at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, including Director of the Agricultural Finance Policy Division, Director-General for Policy Planning, Director-General for Livestock Policy, and Assistant Minister. He also served in the Presidential Office during the Park Geun-hye administration as an administrative officer in the Office of the Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock. In November 2022, under the Yoon Suk Yeol administration, he was appointed Secretary to the President for Agriculture, Oceans and Fisheries. On July 4, 2024, he was promoted to Vice Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
