Biography

Like a hermit crab that outgrows its shell, KIM Seo Yun continuously seeks spaces that challenge, shape, and reflect who she is becoming. Born in Gimcheon, South Korea in 2001, Seoyun works at the intersection of environmental education, climate activism, and civil society. Her work is grounded in a deep interest in climate justice, ecofeminism, and the cultural dimensions of sustainability. In 2025, she will begin her M.Sc. in Human Ecology at Lund University. That same year, she co-founded Coolimit, a youth-led climate organization focused on grassroots action and intergenerational dialogue, and joined the core team of LCOY Korea, a national youth climate conference aligned with the UNFCCC. She represented Korean youth at COP29 and co-developed climate and global citizenship programs with Seoul National University’s Extension College, reaching students at Jangchung (2024) and Pyeongchang (2025) High Schools. Internationally, she contributed to UNICEF-led teacher training and the development of localized education programs in Madagascar’s SAVA region. Seoyun holds a B.A. in Scandinavian Studies and International Studies from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and continues to weave learning and activism—growing into each new space, one shell at a time.
