Biography
Donald KIRK is an American journalist who studied international politics at Princeton University and the University of Chicago. For decades, he has covered major conflicts and political developments across Asia, with a particular focus on the Korean Peninsula. Since the 1970s, he has reported on pivotal moments in Korea’s modern history, including the assassination of President Park Chung-hee, the Gwangju Uprising, the Jeju April 3rd Incident, and the North Korean nuclear crisis. His reporting has contributed to a deeper global understanding of peace and democracy on the Korean Peninsula. He is a recipient of prestigious journalism honors, including the Overseas Press Club Award and the George Polk Award.
