KO Changhoon holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Korea University and served as a professor in the Department of Public Administration at Jeju National University, where he is now Professor Emeritus. He previously served as Director of the Jeju 4·3 Research Institute and President of the World Environment and Island Studies Society (WESG). He played a pivotal role in the exhumation of remains at Darangshi Cave and has contributed significantly to uncovering the truth of the Jeju April 3rd Incident. His lifelong academic and civic engagement has been dedicated to transforming the island’s painful history into values of empathy, understanding, and reconciliation.
