Biography
Starting with the gold medal in the "table tennis" team event at the 1986 Asian Games in Seoul, HYUN Jung Hwa won gold medals in various international competitions such as the World Championships and Olympics, and rose to the top of the world. In particular, she participated in the 1991 World Championships as a unified Korean team and won the gold medal in the team event with North Korea's Li Bun-hee and others. In 1996, she obtained a master's degree in physical education from Korea University Graduate School of Education, and was awarded the Blue Dragon Medal of the Korean Sports Medal. She was the only Korean player in Korea to have the most gold medals in international competitions and was inducted into the International Table Tennis Association Hall of Fame in 2010. She served as the national coach and is dedicated to the development of Korean table tennis by serving as the head coach of the Korean Racing Authority (KRA) Table Tennis Team and the senior vice president of the Korea Table Tennis Association.
