Biography
PARK Lae Goon was born on March 17, 1961, in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, Korea. He has been engaged in human rights activism for 37 years. He served as a standing activist at Sarangbang for Human Rights, one of Korea's leading human rights organizations. He also founded and operated the Human Rights Foundation SARAM, which supports human rights organizations and activists. After the Sewol Ferry Disaster in 2014, he established the April 16 Solidarity and the April 16 Foundation, dedicating his efforts to promoting the values of respect for life and a safe society in South Korea. His notable publications include <People Beside People Beside People>, <We Have Things to Remember>, and <Wounds Will Speak Someday>.
