Biography

After completing her singing studies at the Chu-Gye University in Séoul (South Korea), the soprano Hye Myung Kang continued her studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. She was a prizewinner in numerous competitions (including the ""International Opera Singing Competition of Marmande"" and the ""International Opera Competition Maria Caniglia"") and began her career in the major opera houses in France: Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Opéra de Marseille, Opéra National Montpellier Languedoc- Roussillon, Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, Chorégies d'Orange Opera Festival.
She appeared in the Vienna Konzerthaus in ""Thaïs"" alongside Renée Fleming and Thomas Hampson under the direction of Michel Plasson, in numerous concerts in Europe, Korea and Japan and is a frequent guest in the major opera houses in Korea.
She sang the title role at the Korean premiere of Donizetti's «Anna Bolena» at the Seoul Art Center, Leïla («Les pêcheurs de perles») at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste, and made her debut at the Opera House of Dubai as Donna Anna («Don Giovanni»), at the Korea Opera Festival 2018 she was Amelia («Un ballo in maschera») and at the Teatro di San Carlo di Napoli she sang Violetta («La traviata») she sang Madama Butterfly at the Teater Orchester Biel Solothurn in Switzerland.
