Dr. Nachman Shai is currently an Israeli Institute Visiting Professor at Duke University Political Science Department in Durham, N.C., following the 2019 academic year when he was a Visiting Professor at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Nachman has been a Member of Knesset for the past 10 years. Before his election to the Knesset, he held diverse positions in the military, the media, the diplomatic, and the public arenas. These include the Director General of the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport; Israel Defense Force Spokesperson, and Communications Advisor to the Minister of Defense Yitzhak Rabin. He holds a Ph.D. in political science and communications from Bar Ilan University and his publications include Media Wars(2013), Caught in the Net (2016), and Hearts and Minds(2018).
