Biography
Tim Colley is the International Director in the UK Vaccines Taskforce - working to secure access to Covid vaccines for the UK population and to ensure equitable global access as quickly as possible to help bring the pandemic to an end and restore trade and travel. Tim was previously Head of the International Trade Team and the Trade Policy Profession in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) – working on replacing EU trade agreements and negotiating new deals particularly with the US, Australia and New Zealand. He joined BEIS in April 2017 after more than 25 years in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Tim’s last FCO role was as UK Ambassador in Latvia - where the challenges included responding to the UK vote to leave the EU. Tim previously held many Deputy Director roles in the FCO - including leading work on the UK’s Overseas Territories, South Eastern Europe and EU enlargement. Tim was posted in Bulgaria and Pakistan and worked in London on foreign policy and resource planning. Tim worked for a UK professional services company and did a brief stint in the army before joining the civil service. Tim has a degree in Natural Sciences from Durham University.
