Flemming Ytzen, columnist and author, born 1952. Flemming Ytzen has covered East Asia for three decades through regular columns in Politiken, one of Denmark’s most influential daily newspapers, and contributions to two of Denmark’s television programs, DR2/Deadline and TV2News. Mr. Ytzen has been a lecturer on geopolitics and economic development in East and South East Asia at The Nordic Institute of Asian Studies at Copenhagen University, The Danish Defence Academy, and Denmark’s Foreign Policy Society. Furthermore, he has served as an educational consultant for the Danish Foreign Ministry on development projects in Asia, primarily in Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Bhutan. Mr. Ytzen has visited China regularly since 1978 and Korea since 1984.
