Director General Wooseok Choi began his public career at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (currently the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) in 1997. He is an expert in industrial and energy policy who has been the director of the Industrial Technology Development Division, the director of the Electric Power Division, and the head of the TF for Energy Transition Communication. Since October 2019, he has been serving as Director General for New and Renewable Energy Policy Bureau in charge of expanding renewable energy and promoting the hydrogen economy. He graduated from Yonsei University in 1996 and earned a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School in 2009.
