Biography

Park Seokjoon was born in 1987, the year the Korean democracy was established today and has grown up in Seoul. In his school days, he was interested in the problems of education inequality and founded a non-profit organization(Ggumjirak Network). While he prepared the educational facility for the next generation and operated the programs where he had grown up, he believed that enhancing citizens’ capability would fundamentally solve inequality problems.
In 2014, when the Sewol ferry disaster occurred, he organized a “Youth Council” elected by the youth directly to apply their voice to the policies. Continuing the activities to promote the growth of democratic citizens by realizing democracy in daily life, he became a co-chairperson of “The Seoul Youth Policy Network,” a governance platform for youth policies in 2020. With recognized activities such as the above, he is currently working as a special chairperson for the youth under the “Presidential Education Committee” to establish mid- to long-term educational policies in Korea.
