Sang Hyun Song is a professor at Dankook University. He holds the chair of the department of Middle Eastern Studies, He received his PhD in Middle East Studies(History) from the Middle East Center at the University of Utah in 2015. In 2019 he was the Secretary-General of the Korean Association of Middle East Studies. His academic interests are Saudi oil policy, Rentierism, and Economic Diversification in the GCC countries. He published articles such as “The Economic and Political Background of Saudi Vision 2030 and Its Future,” “The Pragmatic Attitude of the Wahhabi ‘Ualama toward Their Saudi Rulers,” and “The Influence of Saudi Oil Policy on the Second Oil Shock.”
