Biography
Kyunghoon SUL was inaugurated as Director of the UNITAR CIFAL Jeju/Jeju International Training Center in 2019. He has been committed to raising the value of the mission that provides government authorities and civil society leaders in the Asia-Pacific region with opportunities to learn practical knowledge and share lessons learned for the achievement of sustainable development goals. He has led and supervised a wide range of capacity-building programs in the field of economic and social development and environmental sustainability, and also contributed to strengthening partnerships with UNITAR, other UN agencies, and the CIFAL network to develop and keep the training programs in the highest quality. Earlier as Director of CIFAL Jeju/JITC, he served as a career diplomat for more than 30 years, posted in several countries like Iran, Kuwait, Ukraine, and Moldova, and served in the Korean missions in Geneva and New York. Most recently, he worked as Vice President for Global Partnership in the KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), Korea’s ODA implementing body.
