Biography
Jeon In-gap is a professor in the Department of history at Sogang University and director of the China Research Institute. His field of research is contemporary Chinese history. He has received his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. from the Department of Asian History in Seoul National University. He was a professor in the Department of Chinese Studies and director of the Humanities Research Institute and head of the Humanities Korea research program at Incheon National University. While organically grasping China's long-term stability and turbulent nature, he has been researching to understand China's modern history in depth amid historical continuity. His major publications include “The Imperial Dreams of Contemporary China” (2016), “China, A New Paradigm”(co-author 2015), “The Confucius and State Building in the Twentieth Century China,” and “Localism and Workers in Shanghai Society in the 20th Century.” He has published over 50 articles, including “A Shift of State Building Paradigm and Nationalism”(2020)
