
Biography
Lee Young-jong works as a professional reporter covering the issue of North Korea's reunification at the JoongAng Ilbo, South Korea's leading newspaper. He has several experiences covering his visit to North Korea over 26 years and has covered a total of five inter-Korean summits, North Korea's nuclear tests, tours to Mount Kumgang and the opening of the Kaesong Industrial Complex, and inter-Korean family reunion events. He completed a Ph.D. in North Korean studies at Korea University and worked as an independent researcher at the WWICS(Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars) in the United States.
He is currently serving as the director of the JoongAng Ilbo's Institute of Unification and Culture. He wrote some of the books including [Successor Kim Jong-un], [Sunshine Report], and [Women of the Kim Jong-il Family,], etc.
