Dr. Zhihua Shen is currently based at the East China Normal University, holding positions as a Distinguished Professor of the Department of History, Dean of the Institute for Studies of China’s Neighboring Countries and Regions（ISCNCR）, and Director of the Center for Cold War International History Studies（CCWIHS）. He is also a Guest Professor at Peking University and a Senior Fellow of the Cold War International History Project of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Professor Shen's research interests include the Cold War, Soviet History, and, especially, the histories of Sino-Soviet relations and the Korean War.
