Biography

Dr. Au Chi Kin got his PhD in history from the HK Baptist University. He is now the Assistant Professor of the HK Shue Yan University. He was Senior Lecturer and Assistant Programme Director at HK Community College of the HK Polytechnic University, Academic Advisor of Hong Kong Association of Registered Tourist Guide Association, Advisor of the HK Police Force History Club, Programme Advisor of cultural heritage in secondary schools and Writer for history columns in newspapers. His publications include The Mining History of Ma On Shan, HK Customs - A Centenary History, Sun Yat sen and HK, Learning Chinese Language, Learning Cantonese, Changing the History of HK Sixty Literature, HK History and Culture Learning Materials, Xinhai character portrait, The Perspective of the Eastern and Western History as well as textbooks on contemporary China, Hong Kong today and Chinese history topics. His academic articles, book reviews and translated articles are published in various academic journals in China, HK, Taiwan and Australia. His main research areas are HK history and culture and modern Chinese intellectual history.
