Biography
Kim Dohyung, President of the Northeast Asian History Foundation (NAHF), served as chairman of the Association for Korean Historical Studies, and he is one of Korea's leading scholars in the field of enlightenment, activities of volunteer troops, and political thought during the modern era. He worked as a professor in the History Department at Yonsei University and was inaugurated in November 2017 as the 5th president of the NAHF. Kim strives to pursue historical reconciliation in Northeast Asia through research activities, the implementation of policies, and the promotion of education. Kim also participated in the First (2002-2005) and the Second (2007-2010) South Korea-Japan Joint History Research Project. He authored Study of Political Ideas of the Korean Empire (1994), Transformation and Reformation of Modern Korea (2014), Nation and Region: Modern Reform Period of Daegu·Gyeongbuk (2017), and Korean Culture and University: Academic Traditions and Studies of Yonhi College (2018).
