Biography
Mr. Frank Remus assumed his functions as the Representative a.i. of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representation in the Republic of Korea in September 2018. During his 26-year UNHCR career, Mr. Remus served at various operations including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Yemen, and Kazakhstan also worked at the UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva. Recently, he served as the Head of UNHCR Liaison Office to the OSCE and Vienna-based UN Agencies. Before his UNHCR career, Mr. Remus also worked for the German Embassy in Cairo and the German Foundation for International Development in Berlin.
Mr. Remus holds a B.A. from the Academy of Political Science and Law in Potsdam, Germany. He is fluent in German, English, Arabic, and Russian.
