Biography
Dr. Denis Tolkach joined the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in August 2013 as a Visiting Lecturer and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2014. Dr. Tolkach has taught various subjects within the Hospitality and Tourism fields, including Contemporary Issues in Tourism, Ethics & Social Responsibility, Food and Beverage Management, Hospitality Facilities Planning & Development, Innovation and Creativity in Hospitality and Tourism, and Co-Operative Education. Furthermore, Dr. Tolkach has given guest lectures on subjects of Sustainable Tourism Development, Community Participation in Tourism and Tourism in the South Pacific at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research interests are within areas of Community-Based Tourism, Pro-Poor Tourism, Nature-Based Tourism, and Tourism Development in Less Developed Countries.
